The very best in summer collegiate baseball returns to Western Nebraska in 2023 as the reigning Independence League Champion Western Nebraska Pioneers begin play in Gering on May 23.
Entering their sixth season of play, the Pioneers have earned two Championships in their five seasons and continue to strive for excellence both on and off the field. The Pioneers are dedicated to our community and are committed to operate professionally, with integrity and with the promise to keep the fan and player experience at the forefront of what they do.
With great game day staff, interns and full-time employees, the Pioneers work every day to give Western Nebraska and Eastern Wyoming the most affordable, entertaining night out a family can enjoy, all summer long.
In 2023 the Pioneers will play an unaffiliated schedule, with more home games and a variety of opponents from Colorado, Kansas, Wyoming, Idaho and other locations throughout the region. Opening Night is May 23 as the Pioneers host the North Platte (NE) Plainsmen at Oregon Trail Park Stadium in Gering for the first game of a 56-game schedule. The season wraps up on July 30, with 36 home games and 20 road games scheduled. Full schedule and ticket information can be found at https://www.wnpioneers.com. We hope to see you at the ballpark this summer!
